About Us
My name is Jenna (the Nerd) and my co-author, adventure partner, and love of my life is Luke (the Nurse). We have been together for 4.5 years and in that time have seen 3 continents, 8 countries, and various states throughout the US. We love travelling and both of our experiences go back far beyond our time spent together.
My fascination with travel started with an intense love for history. I have forever been enthralled with different people, cultures, and what has happened through the past to shape our world today. I started learning about different cultures as a kid through my Spanish Immersion program at school. We learned about holiday traditions, foods, and landscapes.
In high school and college I began travelling domestically and getting to see the United States. I also spent time living in Brazil in college. Since graduation I have prioritized travelling and seeing the world. In that time I’ve managed to take multiple international trips and some domestic trips each year. I frequently am asked how I can manage to travel “all the time” and I am creating this blog to share the tips and tricks I have picked up.
Who We Are
Jenna
Jenna works your average day job as an Electrical Engineer designing pacemakers. It’s a fulfilling job and one she loves, but for a girl with many passions work is only one piece of the puzzle. When not at the office Jenna enjoys traveling, activity, and the lifelong joy of learning! Podcasts, books, and anything about history around the world.
Luke
Luke is arguably the more ‘interesting’ half of this pair. Luke is finishing nursing school, but as a non-traditional student his story goes much deeper. Luke is a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps Infantry and bravely served for 4 years out of high school. Also a lifelong learner and lover of history, Luke spends his free time creating a better version of himself in every way, every day.
Together
Jenna and Luke met on Tinder in 2016. What could have turned out like all the other horrible first dates, fortunately, didn’t. Dinner turned into a six and a half our evening with dancing in an empty ballroom and a walk in the rain. Over four years later we have had many adventures and plan for many more.
